PROFILE
Brittany Mortimer specializes in employment law and also provides guidance on tech licensing and other commercial business law matters. She regularly advises high-growth technology clients in day-to-day human resources and employment matters, including developing and maintaining consistent, compliant processes and documents. She also negotiates and drafts software licensing agreements for tech companies, including tech companies that offer solutions for HR and recruiting teams. These tech clients enjoy Brittany’s unique ability to understand both the HR concerns and the licensing concerns of the end user customer.
Brittany began her career in litigation, defending employers in lawsuits ranging from wage and hour disputes to discrimination allegations. She also defends employers before state and federal government agencies, including the Department of Labor, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, National Labor Relations Board, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Brittany has represented public and private employers, and her clients have ranged from small start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.
Armed with her litigation experience, Brittany advises employers on best practices to avoid the courtroom in the first place. Her goal is to prevent disputes when possible, and mitigate existing disputes effectively.
Outside of work she enjoys time with her husband and their two young sons.
